Mr. Henry A. Davalos, PhD
Dr. Henry A. Davalos is a highly respected educator and academic administrator with over 30 years of dedicated service in Philippine education. Currently, he serves as the School Principal of San Felipe Neri Parochial School in Mandaluyong City, Jaime Cardinal Sin Learning Center, and Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School in Manila. He has also held prominent academic leadership roles, including Dean of the College of Education at Arellano University (Malabon and Plaridel Campuses) and Program Chairperson at Jose Rizal University.
Dr. Davalos earned his Doctor of Education, major in Educational Management, with High Honors from Arellano University in 2009. He also holds a Master of Arts in Education, major in Administration and Supervision (2005), from the same institution, and a Bachelor of Science in Education from Republican College. A licensed professional teacher since 1993, he has cultivated a career characterized by excellence in both instruction and school leadership.
Throughout his career, Dr. Davalos has made significant professional contributions to the advancement of educational standards and leadership in the Philippines. He is a seasoned college professor, having taught at institutions such as the Philippine Women’s University and the University of Caloocan. His academic influence extends internationally, having served as a visiting professor at the University of Malaysia, Sabah.
He has played a critical role in institutional quality assurance as a PAASCU Accreditor since 2008 and a FAPE Certifier since 2010—positions that reflect his expertise in evaluating and improving educational systems and practices. His involvement in these initiatives has contributed to the enhancement of academic quality across numerous schools and higher education institutions in the country.
A prolific researcher and speaker, Dr. Davalos has co-authored various studies centered on leadership behavior, organizational support, and the development of effective educational systems. His work has been presented at international academic conferences in the USA, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia, demonstrating his commitment to global best practices in education. Domestically, he has been actively involved in key national training seminars on K-12 curriculum implementation, instructional leadership, and educational supervision.
His exemplary service has been recognized through multiple honors, including the James J. Meany, SJ Service Award (2016, 2017), the Gawad Divinista Award (2021), and Loyalty Awards for 20 and 25 years of dedicated service at San Felipe Neri Parochial School. He also received the Most Outstanding Teacher Award in 1997, reflecting his longstanding dedication to teaching excellence.
Dr. Davalos is actively involved in several professional organizations. He currently serves as Vice Chairman of the CEAP NCR Basic Education Commission and has held leadership positions in MAPSA and APSA-Mandaluyong, including President and Vice President. He is also a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD), further reflecting his dedication to continuous professional development and collaborative educational leadership.
