As Dean of School of Architecture and Fine Arts (SAFA), I am truly proud of the role that Divine Word College of Calapan plays in our society, particularly in the Province of Oriental Mindoro.  DWCC continuously responds to the need of the industry by producing competent, service-oriented and culture sensitive professionals  in field of Architecture and Fine Arts.

Graduates carry the name of this School with pride of being a Divinista.

The School of Architecture and Fine Arts (SAFA) is a dynamic hub of creativity, innovation, and technical excellence. Faculty members are passionate in providing a trans-formative educational experiences that equip students with the skills and mindset needed to excel in the ever-evolving fields of engineering, architecture and fine arts.

SEAFA is proud of the commitment in  fostering the generation of innovators, builders and problem solvers. The School has always been at the forefront of shaping the future of the built environment and technological advancements.

Whether it is through the  passion for designing buildings, developing cutting edge technology, or finding solutions to challenges, DWCC has consistently produced graduates who passed in licensure examinations and gained recognition as board topnotchers.

History

The Department of Engineering in Divine Word College of Calapan was established when the Bachelor in Science in Civil Engineering Program began offering in SY 1987-1988 under the administration of Fr. Joel Maribao, SVD and received the Government Recognition No. 015 Series of 1991 from the Department of Education, Culture, and Sports on June 10, 1991.

Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communication Engineering was offered under the administration of Fr. Romeo Bancale, SVD and received Government Recognition No. 147 Series of 2000 from the Commission on Higher Education on May 18, 2000.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering was offered in SY 2000 -2001 under the administration of Fr. Ernesto Vitor, SVD and received Government Recognition No. 002 Series of 2004 on July 2, 2004 from Commission on Higher Education (MIMAROPA).

Bachelor of Science in  Architecture was offered in SY 2008-2009 under the administration of Fr. Anthony Ibarra B. Fabella, SVD and received Government Recognition No. 0009 Series of 2011 on July 11, 2011 from Commission on Higher Education (MIMAROPA).

Bachelor of Fine Arts was offered in SY 2022-2023 under the administration of Fr. Crispin A. Cordero, SVD. The Permit to Operate was issued on July 2022.

The Department of Engineering was initially headed by Br. Peter Villena, SVD with Engr. Noel R. Villanueva who first handled the Civil Engineering subjects. The leadership in the Department was transferred to Engr. Filomeno D. Tambal, a Civil Engineer, from 1987 until January 2008. Following that, Engr. Roilyn R. Balbin, a Computer Engineer took over from February 2008 to December 2009. In SY 2008 -2009, when the BS Architecture program was introduced, the Department of Engineering and Architecture was formed. From January 2010, to October 2017 Engr. Ariel M. De Roma, a Civil Engineer served as the Department Head. He was then succeeded by Engr. Ron Michael R. Fernandez, an Electronics Engineer who held the position from November 2017 to March 2020.

In June 2018 the department underwent a name change, became known as the School of Engineering and Architecture (SEA). From April 2020 to present the SEA is headed by Arch. Creselda M. Roldan, Ph.D. With the opening of Bachelor of Fine Arts, it was named as School of Engineering Architecture and Fine Arts.

Due to increasing population of SEAFA, the administration headed by Fr. Renato A. Tampol, SVD, Ph.D decided to split up the School. On July 1, 2024,  the new School of Architecture and Fine Arts was born, headed by Arch. Creselda M. Roldan, Ph.D.
