DWCC TESDA Programs and Assessment Centers
The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) was established through the enactment of Republic Act No. 7796 otherwise known as the “Technical Education and Skills Development Act of 1994”, which was signed into law by President Fidel V. Ramos on August 25, 1994. This Act aims to encourage the full participation of and mobilize the industry, labor, local government units and technical-vocational institutions in the skills development of the country’s human resources. Visit TESDA website.
In 2014, Divine Word College of Calapan introduced a TESDA program aimed at providing technical and vocational training (TVET). The college offered three programs within the tourism sector, namely Food and Beverage Services NCII, Housekeeping NCII, and Computer System Servicing. These TESDA programs were developed as pioneering initiatives to significantly impact the development of the workforce across various industries and sectors. After two years, the institution established assessment centers for the same qualifications: Food and Beverage Services NCII, Housekeeping NCII, and Computer System Servicing. DWCC has been consistently delivering high-quality training to diverse learners, thanks to the support of various scholarship grants from TESDA. Furthermore, in the current year (2023), DWCC successfully obtained TESDA accreditation for the Bread and Pastry Production NCII program. DWCC is committed to opening new programs in the future in order to enhance the technical proficiency of aspirant learners.
