DWCC College Library
When the Mindoro College, now Divine Word College of Calapan (DWCC) was established in 1946, the library occupied one room on the ground floor of the Bishop’s Residence, adjacent to the Sto. Niño Cathedral. Then in 1953, it was transferred to another building vacated by the Holy Infant Academy which was also located in the same compound. A librarian took charge of the library with 6,000 volumes of books.
Since 1965, the library has been occupying the left wing of the second floor of the main building in the present site of Divine Word College of Calapan, from 9,000 volumes; the collection of books has increased to 47,235 plus other non-print materials, and periodicals. The members of the staff and student assistants increased in size too. The library has a total floor area of 726.31 sq. meters and has a seating capacity of 333 readers at a time.

Vision
The DWCCC Library as an Academic Library that provides innovative and quality facilities and service to its stakeholders for professional and spiritual growth.
Mission
To provide and support the academic needs of the stakeholders of DWCC to be qualified professionals with respect to cultural preservation.
Goal
1. Maintain a well-balanced library collection;
2. Provide functional library facilities;
3. Engage in continuing professional development and to attend relevant seminars, trainings; and
4. Maintain an efficient and effective library system that develops well organized collections
- To support the academic needs of the curricula of the Divine Word College of Calapan;
- To subscribe to magazines and professional journals (local and foreign).
- To acquire non-print materials to assist instruction especially in their area of discipline;
- To prepare reports regarding the recent acquisitions of the library to all library users;
- To implement a systematic collection development program that will provide for regular collection;
- To monitor the library material expenditures of all the academic department and informing them of the status of their library materials budget;
- To enhance the effectiveness of the centralized acquisitions and for a close monitoring of all requests for library books and other materials, to ensure relevance and avoid unnecessary duplication.
- To improve the library physical environment and the implementation of library policies, and
- To have a quality library personnel service.
- The Library is a place for study and research. Silence at all times is to be observed inside the library premises.
- The Library is to be kept clean and orderly. Chairs are to be pulled out and pushed quietly to their proper places before leaving. Scratch papers should be placed in wastepaper plastic container.
- Eating and drinking are not allowed inside the library.
- Vandalism such as writing on books and furniture, and destroying equipment is prohibited.
- Cellular phones, laptops and music players are permitted in the Library, however, they must not disturb other library users. Urgent phone calls should be made outside the library.
- Working students assigned in the library have the authority to reprimand library patrons if necessary.
- Library patrons should respect working student on duty.
Borrowing Privileges for Circulation Books
-Students (undergraduate) can borrow a maximum of 5 circulation books from 2:00-4:00, Monday to Friday. Books must be returned by 7:30 am the following day.
* Failure to abide by this rule would mean a fine of Php 2.00 per hour or Php 20 per day; computation of fines will be based on the office hours of the library.
-Faculty (full time) – maximum of 10 books per semester
(part-time) – maximum of 5 books per semester
A lost book must be reported immediately and replaced by the borrower with the same title and author. If it is not located at the local bookstores, it can be settled with the same amount plus Php 100.00 processing cost, to be paid to the Cashier window of the DWCC Accounting Office.
The Official Receipt (OR) is to be given to the Head Librarian.
Locker Guidelines
• All library users are required to deposit their bags and large envelopes in the locker provided for library users.
• Lockers are monitored by a CCTV and secured with padlocks, locker keys can be borrowed at the Locker Counter.
• The Library is not liable for any loss or damage of one’s personal belongings; please check lockers before leaving.
Overdue Fines
• The use of a locker is good for 2 hours and can be renewed once for another 2 hours. Late renewal will be subject to Twenty pesos fines
(Php 20.00) for every succeeding hour.
Lost Key
• Two hundred Fifty pesos (Php 250.00) will be charged to any lost or damaged keys by the users.
Dress Code
• All DWCC students must observe the prescribed uniform
from Monday to Thursday.
• The following outfits are NOT allowed: All kinds of shorts, sleeveless shirts/blouses, short skirts/dresses, slippers, and cropped tops.
• Wearing P.E. uniforms is not allowed inside the library.
• All On-The-Job Training, Student Teachers must observe their prescribed uniforms with their school IDs and be required to get a letter of permit from SAO.
DOCUMENT DELIVERY SERVICE (DDS)
DDS is a service for DWCC students, faculty, and staff to request full-text articles and book chapters available in our Library.
Guidelines:
1. Search for the title of the book using the DWCC Library Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) at library.dwcc.edu.ph or through the
DWCC E-Library link on your Learning Management System (LMS) account.
2. Send your request to DIVINA by chatting on DWCC Library’s Official Facebook Page. (Include the Title of the Book, Author, and Call Number for immediate processing)
3. Expect a message containing the Scanned Chapter/s in a Photo within1-2 working days.
Reminders:
-Scanning request applies only to books available at DWCC Library
-One (1) chapter per patron per day

DWCC MINDORO MANGYAN MUSEUM & ARCHIVES
Archive collections include DWCC history, SVD history, pictures of DWCC activities, yearbooks, and other archive materials about the Institution.
Mindoro-Mangyan Museum collections are composed of the following: Pictures of eight (8) major Mangyan tribes, a map of Mindoro, handicrafts, Mangyan attire, Hanunuo Mangyan writings, household articles, musical instruments, weapons, Puerto Galera excavations of different pots, and Mindoro festivals in pictures.
All of these materials are to be used inside the library only.
