Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

The DWCC Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) formerly offered as Bachelor of Science in Commerce under Government Recognition.  The BSBA program has been granted Level II accreditation status by the Philippine Association of Accredited Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). BSBA is a four-year program that provides a professional business path for those who would like to make a career in any field of business such as finance, operations management, and marketing specialist or become an entrepreneur. 

In collaboration with industry practitioners, the program curriculum has undergone several revisions in 2011, 2015, and 2017 to provide better-quality graduates in the industry. In addition, innovations are regularly done through enhanced professional course offerings, improved course contents of all courses, and competent faculty members for the BSBA educational system. As a result, the BSBA program prepares graduates for competitive leadership and management responsibilities in diverse industry settings, from government, private sectors, small businesses, and multinational companies.

The BSBA program covers three (3) specializations:
  1. BSBA Major in Marketing Management (MM)

    The Marketing Management program prepares the graduates for careers in marketing, market research, advertising, and public relations. The curriculum provides the graduates with both technical skills and competencies required in the field and the flexible mind set necessary to stay competitive in a constantly changing business environment.

  2. BSBA Major in Financial Management (FM)

    The Financial Management program prepares the graduates for various careers in financial management as well as in related fields, including but not limited to corporate finance, investment management, banking, credit, trust operations, insurance, foreign currency markets, money markets, capital markets, and other financial securities markets. The curriculum provides the graduate with knowledge of financial institutions and technical skills based on established financial theories, methodologies, and various analytical tools. It also promotes an outlook based primarily on ethics, market integrity, regulations, good governance, and competitive global perspective, necessary for effective financial decision making.

  3. BSBA Major in Operations Management (OM)

    The Operations Management program prepares students to manage the operations of manufacturing, agri-business, and service enterprises, focusing on the need to effectively and efficiently produce and deliver products and services on time and within budget. The program curriculum covers all operations within the organization, including purchasing, inventory, production and service quality, logistics supply chain, and distribution.

Program Expected Outcomes
  1. Formulate new business models specific to their field of business specialization that will enable the business to adapt to survive the ever-changing environment with the understanding of their advantage and limitations.
  2. Adopt current and available technologies to improve one’s effectiveness and efficiency.
  3. Make sound business decisions from a set of alternative courses of actions by applying quantitative techniques.
  4. Investigate complex business issues using business analytics, business environment analysis and comparative analysis to come up with comprehensive and reliable findings essential in making business decisions.
  5. Perform business activities efficiently and effectively using knowledge in finance, operation and marketing.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues, practitioners, clients, policy-makers, interest groups and the public in order to enrich the understanding of the market and industry, and expand alternative courses of actions that will be used in making decisions.
  7. Work independently and in teams to accomplish a common goal with observance to the business code of ethics.
  8. Evaluate business undertakings by using logical and rational processes.
  9. Recommend business solutions and strategies based on similar scenario in the global marketplace.
  10. Plan and implement courses of action using self, peer and management assessment, for personal and professional growth.
  11. Demonstrate servant leadership and exhibit actions following the examples of St. Arnold Janssen and Joseph Freinademetz.
