Basic Education Admission Policies
Enrolment to the DWCC BED is open to boys and girls of any nationality, religious belief or political affiliation. However, the school has the right to refuse admittance or re-admittance to students defined by the school’s rules and regulations contained in this handbook. A non-Catholic who enrolls at DWCC BED is required to attend religious classes.
A student may enroll through online platform. Procedures are posted at the DWCC Online Community. Down payment can be paid through Palawan Express, a remittance agency and through RCBC.
A. Old Students
- All bona fide students of DWCC BED may be re-admitted to next curriculum year provided they meet the academic and the school requirements. Students are recommended either for admission, non-admission or probation depending on their previous school records. There are two kinds of probation: Academic probation and Disciplinary probation. Those who are under probation are required to see the principal before they are enrolled in the following school year.
- Submit Report Card.
B. New Students
Submit the following;
a. Elementary Report Card (FS __) duly signed by the Elementary School Principal.
b. Four (4) copies of ID-size photos.
c. Photocopy of Birth Certificate (PSA).
d. Certification of Good Moral Character
C. Transferees
Submit the following:
a. Report Card
b. Certificate of Good Moral Character
c. Birth Certificate (clear photocopy, PSA)
d. Recommendation from the Principal of the last school attended if the transfer is at the middle of the school year.
D. Alien Students
- Submit the following;
a. A photo copy of Alien Certificate of Registration, the original of which should be presented for verification.
b. Permit to study secured from the DepEd. - Must pass the Entrance Examination or its equivalent.
Undergraduate School
Undergraduate Admission Policies
Admission to Divine Word College of Calapan may be granted to student applicants who filled up the application form, presented the complete and valid credentials, and took the College Admission Test.
General Admission Requirements
For student applicants to be admitted to College, he or she must submit the following:
- Form 138 (Grade 12 School Card); Transfer of Credentials for Transferees
- Certificate of Good Moral Character from the previous school attended
- Original Birth Certificate from NSO/PSA
- 4pcs 2×2 ID picture
- Marriage Certificate for Married Female Students
DWCC-College Admission Test (DWCC-CAT)
The DWCC College Admission Test is a standardized aptitude test for all programs, which measures the collective knowledge in various skill areas such as verbal, analytical and numerical. These tests are not designed to measure what students have learned in school, instead these tests measure the students’ potential to perform well in the future.
The tests will be administered for 2 hours with a testing fee of 200 pesos. Student applicants with “Low” results (1-9%ile in the three skill areas) will be automatically referred to the department dean and assigned counselor for academic monitoring and follow up once they are officially enrolled. With the test results, student applicants may then go to the Counselor for interview.
Moreover, Engineering and Architecture applicants will have additional standardized test for one hour and 30 minutes, as well as the Accountancy applicants for their Teacher-Made Diagnostic Test to be administered by the Guidance Personnel. Applicants need to pass the examination to be admitted to the department.
Additional Program-specific Policy for Admission
- Engineering and Architecture Programs
- SHS graduates who wants to enroll Engineering or Architecture programs must take and pass the Admission Test for Engineering and Architecture.
- SHS graduates who have general average of 85 and above can take and be accepted to School of Engineering, Architecture and Fine Arts if they passed the test.
- BS Accountancy
- DWCC ABM Graduates who have an average grade of 82 and above in the Fundamentals of Accounting 1 and 2, are exempted to take the Admission Test and Bridging Program for Accountancy. However, those who have below 82 average, may take the Admission Test for Accountancy or enroll for the Bridging Program.
- Non-ABM graduates who wish to take the Accountancy Program are required to enroll for the Bridging Program.
Registration of Old Students
Old students who have three (3) remarks of Failed, Dropped, Not in Class, Failed due to Absences (any combination) are required to report first to the Guidance Office with their parent/guardian before they can enroll for the coming semester to ensure that their parent/guardian knew their academic performance in the previous semester. Students’ reason/s may also be identified for the conduct of proper intervention.

Graduate School Admission Policies
Qualifications for Admissions
- An applicant for the master’s program must have a baccalaureate degree from a recognized college or university and must at least have an average of 85% in the entire program to be eligible for enrolment. Students with an average lower than 85% shall be admitted on a probationary basis and will be allowed to continue in the graduate program with the condition of maintaining a grade not lower than 1.50.
- In certain fields of concentration, a graduate student should have either a parallel corresponding undergraduate academic degree or at least 12 units in the undergraduate level parallel to the graduate major being applied for before he/ she is admitted formally into the graduate degree program.
- For the doctorate program, the applicant must have a master’s degree obtained from a recognized college or university and should have obtained an average not lower than 1.50. An applicant holding a non-thesis master’s degree must enroll in a six (6) unit thesis writing course (Thesis 1 and Thesis 2 Courses), produce a thesis with an assigned adviser, orally defend it before a chairperson and panel members and obtain a passing mark prior to admission into the Ph.D. program that allows such applicants.
- A transferee must be able to present the necessary transfer credentials to be considered for admission to the graduate degree program. A recommendation of the Program Coordinator approved by the Dean of the Graduate School must be accomplished prior to enrolment. Under certain instances, the Program Coordinator, with the approval of the Dean of the Graduate School, may recommend and require him/ her to take additional academic units, either foundation courses including the institutional requirement, or core/ major or cognate courses.

Applicants for Master’s and Doctorate Programs must obtain a passing grade in the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), which measures an applicant’s analytical ability, aptitude, English proficiency, and capacity to pursue and complete further studies.
