TAGBILARAN CITY, Bohol โ Administrators and selected office heads of Divine Word College of Calapan, Inc. (DWCC) are participating in the 11th Divine Word Educational Association (DWEA) National Assembly, being held from July 20 to 22, 2026, at Holy Name University (HNU).
With the theme, “Beyond We: Advancing the Divine Word through Transformative Education in Service, Leadership, and Formation,” the biennial gathering brings together administrators and personnel from Divine Word educational institutions across the country to engage in discussions on leadership, formation, and the continuing mission of Catholic education.
The assembly opened with a Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. Narciso Cellan, SVD, PhD, Provincial Superior of the SVD Southern Province. SVD administrators from participating Divine Word educational institutions served as concelebrants during the Mass.
In his homily, Fr. Ruel Lero, SVD, President of Holy Name University, called on members of the Divine Word community to build campuses rooted in integrity, justice, kindness, and humility. He emphasized that education is a ministry that calls educators and administrators to remain faithful to God’s mission through service and leadership.
Representing DWCC at the national assembly are Fr. Ramilo Mapaye, SVD, PhD, President; Fr. Judy Baรฑez, SVD, PhD, Vice President for Administration; Fr. Eliseo Yyance, SVD, College Chaplain; Fr. Ross Hereula, SVD, Director for Community Extension Services; Mr. John Angelo Alejo, Campus Lay Minister; and Mr. Wyndell S. Gaspan III, Ad Hoc Committee Member of the DWEA Assembly.
The three-day assembly continues with plenary sessions, discussions, and collaborative activities that provide Divine Word educational institutions an opportunity to exchange best practices, strengthen collaboration, and reflect on their shared mission of transformative education in service, leadership, and formation.
The DWEA National Assembly is a biennial gathering of SVD educational institutions from across the Philippines, serving as a platform for collaboration, professional growth, and the strengthening of the Divine Word educational mission.
